Attendees at the Star Wars Celebration and the Star Wars 40th Anniversary in Orlando, Florida and viewers around the world were treated to the official announcement trailer for Star Wars Battlefront II (following a leak from several days earlier). The sequel to 2015's revival of the ever-popular Battlefront series, was well-enjoyed but faced stark criticisms for its slanted content presentation - singular and fairly limited multiplayer components and no single player.
The leaked 30 second trailer teased a highly anticipated dive into a single player campaign, and an interesting point of view - the enemy. The full-length trailer expands on the upcoming game's story, which will place players in the shiny black boots of an Imperial special forces trooper, and founding commander in the eventual splinter/survivor group, the First Order of Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015).
The exciting trailer also shows us the many improvements to be made to Battlefront's multiplayer. This includes more detailed space combat and battles that span every era in the Star Wars universe. Heroes such as Darth Maul, Yoda, Kylo Ren, and Rey will all be playable.
The trailer and announcement also features a final release date, November of 2017.
