Destiny 2 developer Bungie has just announced the first Iron Banner multiplayer event. The Iron Banner made its debut during Destiny the first, as a competitive multiplayer mode and modifier, giving players access to a number of legendary gear items and accolades. However, with Destiny 2 being the amped up, more in-depth version of its predecessor, Iron Banner has a few changes.
The announcement page on Bungie’s blog details that a new emphasis on fighting styles will determine the outcome of sessions, not a player’s level. Tokens, rewards, and points will be rewarded just for playing. In a shift from the previous game, players will now receive decodable Iron Banner engrams, rather than bounties or Iron Banner ranks.
Destiny 2’s Iron Banner kicks off this coming Tuesday October 10th, and closes October 17th. You can find Lord Saladin in the City Tower to claim rewards.
