As was announced on Thursday of last week, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End took home the gold from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) annual Game Awards. The thrilling adventure game and emotional conclusion to the critically praised Uncharted series from developer Naughty Dog has been hailed for its sharp writing, impeccable design, and thrilling gameplay. While the Naughty Dog rightfully accepted top honors, they had some intense competition from the other titles of 2016.

For one, Uncharted 4 is among some great gaming company. 2016 saw scores of impressive and diverse titles push the boundaries of our expectations. Fire Watch, Inside, Titanfall 2, Stardew Valley, and Overwatch were all contenders. Overwatch grabbed the SXSW Game Awards top honors, and was highly popular. The gaming community has been split down the middle in regards to these two games, as many organizations have awarded both with plenty of recognitions, including Game Chop's very own "Very Best" recognition.

Check out the other great games that BAFTA honored. Say what you will about 2016, but the games we were privileged to have been outstanding.
