PlayStation's newest arrival and member of the PS4 exclusive family, Horizon Zero Dawn has surpassed 2.6 millions copies sold. This is after only two weeks of availability, says developer Guerilla Games. The post-apocalyptic adventure game has intense competition as BioWare's highly anticipated Mass Effect: Andromeda is due next week on March 21st.

During a statement, Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios head Shawn Layden explained that "We knew Horizon Zero Dawn was going to be something special, so to see the incredible critical reaction to a brand new game world translate into this level of sales is really gratifying." Herman Hulst, managing director at Gerrilla Games went on to say that "Developing the game was a labor of love, so it's extremely satisfying to see that it elicits the same passion and enthusiasm from the gaming public that we felt during its development."

Hulst also said that the developer, behind the PlayStation exclusive series Killzone, is planning to expand upon Horizon Zero Dawn. A story-based DLC is planned, but no other info about it is currently known.
