Ghost Story Games
Big news out of the proverbial grave of studio, Irrational Games. The esteemed former developer’s unit created the wildly popular BioShock series, but closed down for the most part in 2014. The studio halted projects upon the release of the third BioShock installment, the critically acclaimed BioShock Infinite (and its expansions, Burial at Sea, Episodes 1 and 2). This Wednesday, Irrational Games officially reinvented itself as Ghost Story Games.
The Boston-based developer includes the founding team members of Irrational Games, headed by creative director Ken Levine. Ghost Story Games’ new mission statement details that the team’s goal is to develop “story-driven games for people who love games that ask something of them.”
Clearly poised to cater to fans of their previous titles, Ghost Story Games is set to embrace the followers and players that enjoyed the unique and thrilling BioShock series (including several notable members of our own staff).
While the team has no details on what game they are currently working on, Game Chop will keep you informed of any press that Ghost Story Games makes available.
