2016 was a pretty horrible year; wretched political dissonance, costly conflicts and so many notable deaths. The video game industry, however, soared to new heights with some of the best releases we've seen in some time. The sheer volume of remarkable titles is in and of itself, remarkable. Game Chop reviewed so many amazing video games this year, all of which were outstanding examples of this marriage of art and science that we enjoy so much. We recognized Naughty Dog's tremendous Uncharted 4: A Thief's End as The Very Best Game of 2016, but there were so many contenders.
Notable video editor and YouTuber, Malcolm Klock has spruced up an exquisite compilation of the year's best games. Take a look, and maybe your anguish over this terrible year will wane for a moment. Reflect on the year's artistic and narrative triumphs, and enjoy. You've earned it.
Bring it on, 2017.
