Over 300 Xbox 360 Games are now Backwards Compatible on Xbox One

In a tweet earlier today, Xbox boss Phil Spencer explained that Microsoft’s Xbox One now supports over 300 Xbox 360 games, making each one backwards compatible. Spencer also released a internal statistic claiming that almost half of all Xbox One players are currently utilizing backwards compatibility. The feature has been a subject of many discussions on current generation gaming, and has enhanced Microsoft’s position as one of the video game industry’s ever-present titans.

The Xbox One’s ability to run older Xbox titles has been a huge advantage for Microsoft, as scores of players still debate on which current-gen consoles to adopt. Sony’s PlayStation 4 deliberately does not offer backwards compatibility, which many players see as a hindrance. Since the feature was announced in 2015, the amount of backwards compatible games have increased monthly.
