After burning hot and quick during its time on Xbox 360 and eventually the PlayStation 3, Titanfall filled players' screens with drivable robots and fun explosions. While the original title did not focus on heavy story driven gameplay, a highly anticipated sequel is expected to expand on the futuristic first-person shooter's narrative.
Titanfall 2 is set to be released in late October for both current-generation platforms and PC. Developed by studio Respawn and published by Electronic Arts, the follow-up game will put players in the eyes of a solider new to the world of piloting Titans, an intelligent and powerful war machine. Players are incredibly familiar with piloting Titans in multiplayer contexts, fighting foot soldiers and other Titans, but they're not used to a story-driven campaign. Jack Cooper is a rifleman with the Frontier, a space exploration force. After discovering an injured Titan with a dead pilot, Cooper links with the war machine and becomes its new pilot, fulfilling a life long dream.
We now know more about the campaign styles being undertaken by Respawn. This game will hone in on the balance between exploration and combat in and outside of the Titan, called 'BT." A new video shows off the environments, action roles and character presence all to be featured in Titanfall 2. We've got aliens, spaceships and a lot of cool weapons coming our way.
Titanfall 2 will be released on October 28th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
