Following a swarm dislikes and scrutiny on YouTube, Activision and original Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward appear to be making a comeback. While the announcement trailer was ripped apart by the legions of the internet, a new gameplay demo published yesterday has been moderately well-received, so far. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare introduces a new story of conflict to players. In the slighty-more-than-distant future, a fleet of interplanetary colonists breaks away from Earth's United Nations Space Alliance and attacks. A solider and pilot named Reyes has to fight his way through an unbelievably well-equipped enemy.
The newest trailer shows us a more story-driven Call of Duty. While many Call of Duty's have had fairly good narratives (some more than others), it's nice to see Infinity Ward focusing more on story, rather than just explosions and guns. With that being said, gameplay in this title honestly looks great. A futuristic first-person shooter is not a new concept, but the little new details that Infinite Warfare promises look intriguing. For example, for how long have we been waiting for a first-person perspective that realistically reacts to a grenade going off only a few feet away? A long time. This, and hopefully many other instances of intense attention to detail are littered throughout this Call of Duty's Campaign.
We'll keep tabs on this video's reactions on YouTube, but so far the positive overwhelms the negative. It seems that this fun looking game will be able to generate some god vibes after all. Game Chop is still excited for our first look at Game of Thrones' Kit Harrington's role as the villain of the game.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will hit shelves and digital marketplaces November 4th for PS4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.
