Electronic Arts Announces Star Wars Battlefront's Death Star Expansion

That's no moon, gamers! Electronic Arts has released new information and a trailer on the 4th expansion for Star Wars Battlefront. The Death Star Expansion will bring players and Star Wars nerds everywhere to the greatest super weapon in science fiction history. This new update to the online multiplayer game will introduce space combat, new game modes and dozens of new weapons and equipment. But, most importantly, our favorite Wookie and Millennium Falcon co-pilot will finally make his entrance.

Chewbaca will now be included as a playable Rebel Hero. While the teaser trailer only shows us a quick glimpse of space combat outside of the Imperial space station, EA has explained that Chewie, and our other heroes, will fight the Empire inside the dreaded Death Star. With that being said, new maps will span the massive installation and give players a real sense of the environment, as they have in previous expansions.

It's refreshing to see a game this fun being appropriately updated and improved upon. Star Wars Battlefront has had its problems in regards to content volume, but these expansions do the very least to give us more of what we love - Star Wars. Death Star is set for a September release, likely a week or two early for Season Pass holders. Those without the Season Pass will still be able to purchase the expansion individually.
