Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Promises War on the Final Frontier in First Trailer

Following a number of cryptic teasers published on social medias, game publisher Activision has released the debut trailer for their upcoming installment in the Call of Duty series, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The trailer shows us a new chapter in the first-person shooter's life, as well as fancy new weapons, storyline, and locations. We also know that the game will be released on November 4th.

The trailer opens with an attack and full-scale invasion of a future Switzerland. The bad guys have advanced weapons, advanced armor, and spaceships. It's unknown what year or what state the world is in, but this massive airborne army has presented the nations of Earth with a serious threat. There are scenes depicting all-out conflict on Earth, as well aerospace battles above the atmosphere (to the tune of the late David Bowie). Most notable is the inclusion of interplanetary travel, which appears to be a key plot element in the conflict humanity will be locked in. Graphics look sharp, gameplay looks sharper, and space battles seem like a win.

This new game will bring Call of Duty fans to space and give them access to dozens of futuristic equipment. While there is no concrete evidence of this game taking place in any of the current Call of Duty universes, could this be a sequel to 2014's Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare? The advanced technology and similar environments hint at the possibility.

The game is headed by Infinity Ward, architects of the wildly popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series. With any luck, Infinity Ward has recaptured their reputation, following the relatively disappointing Call of Duty: Ghosts. Also featured in the trailer is a sneak peak at the remastered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, available for pre-order of the the main game's Legacy Edition.
