The 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo has shown audiences and players so many amazing releases to look forward to. Here at Game Chop, we wanted to gather up a few of our favorite trailers and keep you up to date on their development and background.

Abzu - August 2, 2016

The first trailer that really impressed us was Giant Squid Studio's second trailer for Abzu, an underwater adventure game. This video features more gameplay sequences and locations, and shows off the colorful and beautiful aquatic environments of the sea. We're pleased to see that the game appears whimsical, gorgeous, and narratively reminiscent of studio head's award winning 2012 game, Journey. The trailer is ripe with beautiful music and wonderful sounds of the ocean and its many citizens. While at first it seems like a simple deep-sea dive, shots of mysterious hieroglyphics and ancient technology show us that this game has much more in store for us. We look forward to playing this PlayStation 4 exclusive when August rolls around.

Death Stranding - In Production

Buckle up folks, because this is a tricky one. We assume many of you players and readers are familiar with the Metal Gear series by game developer Konami. However, we assume you may not be as familiar with one of the people behind Konami's many franchises, Hideo Kojima. Recently, Kojima departed Konami and ushered in his own developing studio, and has now debuted the trailer for his first project. Death Stranding is an action game that will star The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus, and feature all sorts of lovely things like artistic interpretations of death, floating demonic beings, and grimaces. While this trailer is mysterious as hell and surrounded by controversy and drama, it gets us excited for the next big project a heritage developer like Kojima could bring to the table.

Battlefield 1 - October 1, 2016

One of E3's most visually stunning trailers was the new gameplay trailer for DICE's upcoming Battlefield 1. The new World War I online shooter is slated to dominate the beloved franchise with features such as air ships, trench warfare, and early-1900s war technology that has yet to be explored by the video gaming community. However, many have criticized the game for trivializing the tragedy that WWI is. With any luck, the developers at DICE are also focusing on a campaign story which highlights and respects the devastation of so many millions of lost lives. All and all, we're excited to see Battlefield take a step backwards in time to bring us another fun first-person multiplayer shooter.

Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild - Early 2017

Link is back and looking better than ever. The trailer of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has recently enthralled players all across the globe, and for good reason. Nintendo has placed our arrow-totting hero in an ancient and ruined kingdom which has been swallowed by nature. The game is open-world, and will feature monsters and mysterious ruins for Link to explore and survive in. While there's no definite release date yet, players can expect the game to hit Wii U's sometime in 2017.

Mass Effect: Andromeda - March 2017

There's nothing better than seeing an old friend back on their feet. Following the mixed reviews of the final chapter of the Mass Effect Trilogy, BioWare is sending us to turn over a new leaf. And that new leaf is in a brand new galaxy just waiting to be explored. Mass Effect: Andromeda is an entirely new story in the acclaimed science fiction universe that will have players charting their way across a new home. The video showcases some incredible graphics look incredible, some familiar weapons systems, and a whole lot of alien environments. Mass Effect: Andromeda will hit the shelves sometime in March of 2017.
